Stock Photo Service

We offer a stock photo service consisting of approximately 5,000 photographs from our private collection. The emphasis of the collection is Texas and the Southwest. Images dating from the 1840s to the early 20th century portray daily life, town scenes, Confederate and Indian Wars militaria, historic personalities, African-Americans, Native Americans and pioneer Texans. A wide variety of photographic media is represented, including daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, cartes de visite, stereographs, cabinet cards and silver prints. The majority of these photographs are unavailable elsewhere and many have never been published. (subjects index)

Research Services

We are located in Austin, Texas, and are experienced on-site researchers in nearby public repositories such as the Humanities Research Center and the Center for American History at the University of Texas, The Texas State Library and Archives, and the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library. Additionally, we have exclusive access to otherwise unavailable private collections of Texas and Western photography. We work with publishing companies, museums, universities and state agencies, and video, television and motion picture production companies, as well as individual authors and contract researchers.
