Donna J. Coates

Lawrence T. Jones III

Larry Jones has been an avid collector of Texas photographs for over 25 years. He possesses a superb collection of Civil War and nineteenth and early twentieth century Texas images. For 27 consecutive years, he has written and published the Confederate Calendar that features period photography. He frequently has acted as photograph consultant for Texas State Historical Association, and his collection is often used in their publications. Jones has also published articles about antique photography in Military Images and Southwestern Historical Quarterly. He is currently co-author of a book that deals with the Civil War and Reconstruction history and photography in the lower Rio Grande Valley, to be published by Texas State Historical Associates.   Resume   (PDF)
